Background
Lonadek Global Services (www.lonadek.com) is currently seeking to partner with STEM-focused Consultants to achieve its mission of empowering youths with the knowledge of modern technology and providing them with the platform needed to positively transform their immediate society and economy. The project would be focused on assessing the skills gap in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics + Innovation (STEM + I), and Technical and Vocation Education and Training (TVET) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with a focus on identifying skills gap in Agriculture – Agricultural value chains – mainly skills in inputs production, crop and animal production (smart agriculture); the processing of agricultural products and the distribution and commercialization of agricultural products (including E-commerce and logistics in agricultural value chains). The ideal candidate for this role must be a resident of DRC and possess considerable experience working on similar projects within the country.
Required Competencies & Experience
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in relevant STEM-focused disciplines, preferably in Computer Science, ICT, Engineering, Innovation & Technology Management, Education (Digital Technology and Social Change).
- Additional educational and research background in Social Science, Statistics, Labour Economics, Educational Assessment, and Public Policy Management will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of work/project experience in the relevant thematic areas described above, with a bias in executing projects inclined towards identifying skills gaps in the Agricultural value chains.
- Experience in developing skills for Agricultural Transformation in Africa is necessary.
- Proven experience in developing policy briefs and related strategic project documents.
- Familiarity with development policies, labour policies, skills development initiatives, technology and digital economic policy in DRC will be an added advantage.
- Experience in integrating technology into the workforce.
- Good working knowledge of vocational and technical education programmes, curricula and technical platforms, including e-learning authoring tools, multimedia applications, web and virtual classroom technologies, mobile applications and social media tools relevant to supporting technology-enabled learning.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills.
- Demonstrate quality report writing and presentation skills with verifiable publications in accredited forums.
- Demonstrate relevant experience in executing at least two (2) similar assignments in any of the thematic areas for International Organizations, Donors funded projects or Public/Private entities.
- Must have led a project team to conduct at least one (1) similar assignment in any of the thematic areas.
- Demonstrate relevant regional (Central or West Africa) work experience in conducting at least one (1) similar assignment in any of the thematic areas.
- Must be fluent in either English Language or French.
